Hoodie king Jason Dussault takes centre stage at Junos

Hoodie king Jason Dussault decided to stay at home and watch the Vancouver-hosted Junos on TV with his family this weekend but still managed to take centre stage at the Canadian music awards.
On Sunday night Canadian rockers Nickelback paid homage to the North Van fashion designer by sporting his clothing line Dussault Apparel as they accepted three Juno awards and played a pyrotechnic-laced performance from their latest album Dark Horse, which won album of the year.
Earlier this year, Dussault, whose hand-stitched, skull-adorned hoodies and denim have earned him a cult following among Hollywood celebs and sports stars, visited the Nickelback compound in Abbotsford to design stage gear for the award-wining Canadian rock band as they prepared to embark on a tour.
For the Junos, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger dressed in Dussault denim and a black hoodie underneath his leather jacket, while his brother, bassist Michael Kroeger, was decked out in a black Dussault hoodie and custom-made black T with “Dussault” emblazoned in bold green script across the chest.
“(Nickelback) has been an amazing supporter of my brand,” said Dussault, who relished the opportunity to meet legendary music producer Mutt Lang and listen to tracks from Dark Horse as Nickelback completed the album in Abby last year.
Dussault says he was “a little embarrassed” by the blatant on-stage Dussault branding during the Junos but figures it was just the band’s way to “show support for a Canadian fashion designer.”
During the music awards show Dussault texted Michael Kroeger to congratulate the band on the awards trifecta and thank him for donning the Dussault T-shirt. Kroeger texted back, “Glad to support bros!!!”
